Anne Marie Hvid, Nutrition Coach and Founder of Strategies for Better Health
After working in public health for over 20 years, I founded Strategies for Better Health as a way to empower individuals, families, and seniors to discover healthy lifestyles and improve their well-being.
My own journey with nutrition transformation began with elevated cholesterol. I didn’t want to be on medication indefinitely, so I set out to fix it with diet and exercise. What I learned changed how I think about food. Our daily meals support us physically and mentally, and they influence our mood and our level of energy. Making a commitment to healthy eating helps put you in control of your own health.
The importance of a healthy diet is well understood, but making the transition can be difficult. As a certified nutrition coach, I specialize in the prevention of chronic diseases through food. For most people, this means reducing reliance on processed foods and widening their range of healthy options. I can help you integrate these practices into your daily routines. I also work alongside health providers and dietitians to coach people who are sick or recovering from illness.
Through one-on-one coaching and deeply personalized programs, I help clients overcome barriers to better health, such as finding motivation, building new habits, or fitting food prep into a busy schedule. My coaching also includes education on the effects of food on your health and how to select and cook foods for maximum nutrition.
Almost 90 percent of the U.S. population does not eat the recommended amount of vegetables and about 80 percent does not eat the recommended amount of fruit.* Making just a small change in your everyday food habits can better your health for the long term.
